New Orleans Newborn Family Session | Kenlon Belle

Simply put – Newborn Photography is my JAM! The mix of the calm serenity of a newborn session with the sweet baby snuggles and curly poses really resonate with me. Capturing this fleeting time for my clients is just the cherry on top!

Family Newborn Sessions

Last week, I had the pleasure of photographing this beautiful new family of three (technically four counting pup)! As much as I enjoy photographing babies posed and perfect on the beanbag or in a prop, I really love photographing newborn family portraits! Newborn family sessions are like no other. Documenting how small baby girl is in her daddy’s hands is something you know from the moment it’s taken will become a treasured family heirloom.

I really love the way both the family images and the posed newborn setups came out for this session.  Mom and Dad even brought in their beloved puppy dog for a few photos with his new baby sister. Always a ball getting family pets involved in the newborn photography session.

Session Styling

Parent’s personal styling preferences go into the planning of each photo session. This baby’s gender was a surprise so we wanted to take the newborn session to really announce, It’s a girl! Blush pink newborn setups…yes, please! Lace bonnets and hints of florals and pearls? Absolutely!  Together we were able to capture beautiful moments while maintaining a classic, timeless aesthetic that mom and dad will enjoy for years to come.

Wardrobe

Mom is wearing a lace dress from the Amy Milam Photography client closet. Our growing client closet has a variety of styles available for moms and mommies-to-be of all sizes to select from for both Maternity and Newborn Sessions.

Kenlon’s mom just loved all of the studio’s newborn accessories. She mentioned it was hard to find similar items for moms to purchase. Baby girl’s lace bonnets and delicate tiebacks are from various newborn photography prop vendors including The Indy Cottage, Lela’s Props, and Baby Bliss Photo Props. Of course, every newborn photography session with Amy Milam Photography includes the use of any of our props and accessories. Check out the studio here.
